Failed the Smog Test?

If a vehicle fails the smog test it will not be able to be registered or have the registration renewed.  In most cases, any and all problems causing the vehicle to fail the test must be repaired in order to receive a passing test.

If repairs are needed on your vehicle, please contact us to set an appointment to get the issues taken care of!  In addition to smog testing, we are a full service repair facility employing only ASE Master Certified technicians; that way you know that your car will be fixed right!

Need a Smog Waiver / Exception?

Are the repairs needed to pass smog too expensive?  Is the vehicle too old to put money into?  On a tight budget?

The Nevada DMV does a have program that allows vehicles that fail smog to still receive/renew registration; referred to as an emission waiver.  However, to qualify for such waiver, repairs must be made at a DMV authorized 2G Emissions Test and Repair Station.  Repairs made at any other facility or shop will NOT be eligible for a waiver; regardless of expense.  Luckily, we are a 2G Emissions Test and Repair station and regularly perform emissions waiver repairs for our customers!  Read below how it all works and give us a call to get scheduled for repairs!

How It Works

1. First Failed Smog Test

Failing a smog starts the "timer" for the 14 day period of which you may be able to get a waiver.  Contact us immediately to make an appointment for priority service.

2. Perform a Partial Repair

Once the cause of your failed smog has been diagnosed, we'll guide you through your repair options, and work with your budget, to qualify you for the exception.

3. Fail a Second Smog Test

This is an additional step in the process required by the DMV.  Don't worry though; we take care of this for our customers at no additional charge.

4. Take Your Paperwork to the DMV (Easy!)

After the repair, we'll provide you the paperwork for the DMV.   To receive the waiver you will NOT need an appointment and the process is usually about 15 minutes.

5. Receive a Smog Waiver and Register for 1 Year

Once at the DMV, you'll receive a waiver good for one year of registration.  But remember, this exception can only be used once!  The following year, all issues must be repaired in full!
